A MUTE MONOLOGUE - PRE-PREMIERE

On the 5th of December, we're presenting a pre-premiere of the piece 'Untitled Document' by Ari Teperberg, a maker, opera director and performer from Jerusalem, currently participating in Sandberg Institute’s Re:master Opera programme.

Teperberg’s practice revolves around performative mechanisms grounded in the act of deep listening which allows one to witness the phenomena that they expose - about the body and its limitations, the nature of language, voice and perception. Consequently - soundscapes, movement and drama are created, and dense inter-relational structures emerge.

You read.

If you listen closely you can hear me talk, though you don’t hear my voice.

The soft rhythm of my typing keeps us connected.

Letter follows letter as my fingers dance on the keyboard, tracing a maze of thoughts, lost voices, memories and distant views.

A solo performance in a Google Doc document, amusedly and poignantly shifting through the web of relations between voice, identity, technology, memory and loss.
